FY 2017
～FY 2016We had a farewell party for Master course and Doctor couse graduates on 26th. And the next day, after the graduation ceremony at Material Science department, graduates visited Kato Lab and we took our group photo in front of Honda Memorial Building in IMR. Graduates：M2/Takumi SUGA、M2/Hitomi NOGUCHI、M2/Shunsuke KAMATA、D3/Jing JIANG、D3/Xiaoyu LIANG、D3/Morgane MOKHTARI（She was in France）
We had Year-end cleaning and Year-end party. Every year, we clean our lab rooms and the afternoon we go out for party. With the members of Creation of Life Innovation Materials for Interdisciplinary and International Researcher Development, we had wonderful and fun time.
We enjoyed a sport event and indoor INONI.
We joined IMR Futsal game as "Team KATO". We couldn't go into the upper league but had a lot of fun.
We had a farewell party for Geslin-sensei. Since Jun01,2017 as an assistant professor (Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIS)) and since Jan01,2018 as a visiting scientist (Organization for Advanced Studies(OAS)), Geslin-sensei has been a member of Kato-lab but he will return to France. We are going to see him again soon but until then, Bonne chance (Good luck)!
This year again, we enjoyed BBQ with Tsukazaki Lab., Miyasaka Lab., Fujiwara Lab. members. Kato lab. was the host of this event this time, we needed to plan what to cook, how much to buy, who goes to buy what…etc. Prof. Kato Team went to COSTCO to buy foods, M2/Noguchi Team went to Sendai market to buy YAKITORI, and M2/Kamata Team prepared charcoal. We started BBQ around 14:00 and continued to 2nd party with lots of food and drink!
We enjoyed annual IMR beer party. A lot of thanks that graduates of our lab send us beer and Sake. M1/Kotaro Kato won the KARAOKE contest and got a box of assorted icecream as a prize.
We had a sport event and enjoyed volleyball, basketball, badminton and relay by divided into Team Kato vs Team Wada. All the games were close match and Team Kato won this time finally. The winners' prize was one dozen cans of beer! We were so excited at : volleyball serving of D1/Gerelmaa,bullet running of M2/Noguchi, badminton skill of Prof. Kato, "Crab dash" of M1/Shoji & M1/Sato and "Drunken master" of D2/Datekyu.
On the same day as the start of the climbing season, we went up Adatara monuntain. The veiw from the mountaintop was very beautiful.
We enjoyed Hanami in Mikamine park. It was lucky not to rain but it was hard to stand the cold there, so we came back to lab very early. A lot of people from other lab visited us and enjoyed SAKE and talks until late.
We welcomed new M1/Masanobu SHOJI, Shuntaro SATO, Kotaro KATO and had a party. During self-introduction time by all the members, we were surprised at an unexpected person had an unexpected hobby and at non-Japanese members' Japanese speaking skill had been improved a lot. The party continued to the second one
